For one evening, 8 architecture offices presented each several scale models, in the former welding factory 019 in Dok Noord, Ghent. This collection of more than 60 models extracted from the studios revealed largely unseen work and a diversity of approaches. Models live an ephemeral life. Models celebrate architecture. So did this one-night exhibition.
Ouest presented models set on a table designed as a daily tool for the renovation of a stamp factory in Brussels, to be converted into socio-cultural fabric. Spy cameras located inside the model gave an adaptative image of the modification operated while working on the model. The model has been built first as a representation of the existing situation, and slowly but surely turned into a project. The limit between documentation and architectural proposal were never clearly set.
